  • We could not have had a better experience with Vital Charters. They helped us book a yacht charter vacation in the BVI. Super responsive and professional. Jason helped us pick a great yacht for our family trip. Our crew was amazing too!

  • Our trip to the British Virgin Islands was one of the best trips we’ve ever done with family. Vitals Charters did a great job of making it easy for our first time. Thanks so much!

    Marco · September 2026 · Google

  • Had an awesome time chartering a yacht with a bunch of buddies to celebrate our 40th birthdays. A lot of fun and the crew was exceptional. We decided to try the Caribbean this time and will most likely do the British Virgin Islands (BVI) our next time around. Probably won’t wait till 50 though! We’d like to get back out with the crew as soon as possible. Unreal experience!

Every broker on this page draws on these same managing companies, so the yachts you are shown will overlap from one broker to the next. What differs is the advice: which yacht and crew suit your group, and how the booking is handled. Choose a broker on that. Why do different yacht charter brokers all offer the same boats?

What does a crewed week in the Bahamas cost?

A crewed week in the Bahamas has a median rate of $65,000 on a plus-expenses yacht and $32,500 on an all-inclusive yacht. Most Bahamas yachts are priced plus expenses: 210, against 49 priced all-inclusive.

Plus expenses$65,000$45,225 to $99,450210
All-inclusive$32,500$24,000 to $44,00049

All-inclusive rates cover food, drinks and fuel. Plus-expenses rates add an advance provisioning allowance (APA) for those on top. Neither includes crew gratuity.

For rates, tax and fees, read Bahamas yacht charter prices and yacht charter taxes and fees.

How do you choose a Bahamas yacht charter company?

  1. Pick the cruising ground first

The Abacos and the Exumas are different weeks. Crewed operators on this page start Exumas trips from Nassau, George Town or Staniel Cay; the Abacos start at Marsh Harbour. Abacos or Exumas?

  2. Ask where the yacht starts

Many crewed yachts that sell the Bahamas are based in Florida: Miami and Fort Lauderdale are among the most common base ports in Vital Charters' data. Ask us where yours starts. Exuma Cays guide

  3. Budget for plus expenses

210 of the yachts priced for the Bahamas quote plus expenses, so food, drinks and fuel come from an advance provisioning allowance on top of the base rate. Taxes and fees

  4. Ask about the cruising permit

Bahamas Customs sets cruising permit fees by the length of the vessel, from $150 for 30 days on a boat under 30 ft to $600 over 100 ft. Ask whether the permit is inside your rate. Bahamas Customs fee table

  5. For a bareboat, match the base to the islands

Marsh Harbour bases are in the Abacos. Palm Cay Marina on New Providence is where The Moorings starts its Exumas charters.

  6. Compare crews, not catalogs

Every broker draws on the same crewed fleet. The crew, and how well the yacht fits your group, are what differ. Bahamas yacht charter guide

  7. Check the company on its own site

It should name a Bahamas base, Bahamas yachts or a Bahamas page, as every company on this page did on October 7, 2026.

Fleet figures: Vital Charters' crewed-yacht database, as of October 6, 2026

Book direct or through a broker?

For a bareboat, booking direct with the operator is simple, and a broker helps when you want the Abacos and Nassau fleets compared. For a crewed yacht, going direct saves nothing: the yacht's manager sets a single weekly rate, and that is the figure you are quoted whoever takes the booking.

What changes is the choice. An operator can offer its own boats. A broker can compare yachts from all 68 managing companies, including the ones based in Florida.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many yacht charter companies serve the Bahamas?

This page lists 39 companies that sell Bahamas yacht charters, each confirmed on its own website on October 7, 2026: 6 bareboat operators, 5 crewed operators, 19 brokers (Vital Charters among them), 7 booking platforms and 2 day-charter operators. Five official bodies and trade associations are listed separately.

Is it cheaper to book a Bahamas yacht charter direct?

For a crewed yacht, no. The broker's commission comes out of the yacht's weekly rate, not on top of it, so the week costs the same with a broker as without one. Do you pay the yacht charter company directly or through the broker?

What does a crewed yacht charter in the Bahamas cost per week?

The median plus-expenses week is $65,000, with a typical range of $45,225 to $99,450 across 210 yachts. The median all-inclusive week is $32,500, with a typical range of $24,000 to $44,000 across 49 yachts. Figures are from Vital Charters' crewed-yacht database as of October 6, 2026. Neither figure includes crew gratuity, and a plus-expenses rate also leaves out food, drinks and fuel.

Are most crewed Bahamas charter yachts power yachts?

Yes. 76% of the 262 crewed yachts available for Bahamas charters are power yachts, 21% are catamarans and 2% are monohulls, as of October 6, 2026. In the BVI the mix is reversed: 81% catamarans.

Where do Bahamas bareboat charters start?

The six bareboat operators on this page start from two places. Marsh Harbour in the Abacos is the base for Abaco Yacht & Charter Services, Cruise Abaco, The Moorings and Sunsail. Palm Cay Marina on New Providence, near Nassau, is the base for Dream Yacht Charter, Navigare Yachting and The Moorings' Exumas charters.

Are Bahamas charter yachts based in Florida?

Many are. In Vital Charters' data, Miami and Fort Lauderdale are among the most common base ports for crewed yachts that sell the Bahamas. Where you board varies by yacht, so ask us where yours starts.

What does a Bahamas cruising permit cost?

Bahamas Customs lists a 30-day cruising permit at $150 for vessels under 30 ft, $250 for 30 to 50 ft, $350 for 50 to 100 ft and $600 over 100 ft. A 12-month permit runs from $500 to $3,000. Permits can be applied for and paid online.

How we built this list

Company check
Each company's own website was opened on October 7, 2026. To be listed, the site had to load and name a Bahamas base, Bahamas yachts or a Bahamas page. Base, charter types and fleet details are printed as that site shows them; a fleet size appears only where the company's own site shows one. The Best for column is our own summary.
Other sources
Bahamas Customs for cruising permit fees, and the Bahamas Ministry of Tourism for online permits.
Fleet and price data
  • Source: Vital Charters' live crewed-yacht database, pulled October 6, 2026. Active yachts only.
  • A yacht counts for the Bahamas when it lists that cruising area for a season ending after October 6, 2026.
  • Each yacht is counted once, at its lowest weekly base rate for that area, in US dollars. "Typical range" is the middle half of yachts (25th to 75th percentile).
  • All-inclusive rates cover food, drinks and fuel. Plus-expenses rates add an advance provisioning allowance (APA) for those on top. Neither includes crew gratuity.
Not listed
Left out, with the reason: Boatsetter (no Bahamas page found on its site), Navtours (its address redirects to Dream Yacht Charter), Horizon Yacht Charters (no Bahamas base), Merle Wood & Associates (its charter pages show no Bahamas page) and Conch & Coconut (an island concierge, not a boat operator).
Updates
This page is re-checked every quarter. Each company link is opened again and the fleet and price figures are pulled again. The dates on this page change only when that check has run.
