Why do so many crewed charter yachts have no website or online reviews?
Most crewed charter yachts have no website or public reviews because the market is not consumer-facing: individual yachts are listed on central-agent databases and marketed through broker networks, so their reputation lives in broker feedback rather than on Google. That is normal, and the absence of a web presence is not a red flag on its own. A crewed catamaran in the Exumas may run 30 weeks a year fully booked without a single page of its own, because the operator’s clients arrive through brokers who have seen the boat at charter yacht shows, eaten the chef’s food and heard how the last ten groups got on with the crew. The vetting has to come from that network. Reviews exist: they are just held by the people who book the boats repeatedly, along with the notes on which crews turned over last season. This is the practical reason a broker costs the client nothing and still earns the fee; the broker guide explains how the pay works.
