What is a cabin charter?

A cabin charter is a yacht vacation where guests book one cabin instead of the whole boat, sharing the yacht, crew, and itinerary with a few other travelers. Departure dates and the route are fixed by the operator. Most run on crewed catamarans with three to five guest cabins, priced per cabin for two people, with meals, the captain, and a chef or host included. Solo travelers and single couples use them to sail crewed-charter style without paying a whole-boat rate. The trade-off is privacy: a private charter sets its own route and guest list, while a cabin charter follows the posted schedule. Popular routes include the British Virgin Islands and the Grenadines, and a broker can check shared availability for specific dates.
