Can you e-foil at sea?
Yes, in calm water. An eFoil needs flat water rather than waves or wind, so a sheltered anchorage in the lee of an island suits it, while open ocean and swell are hard work for a rider. Most first-time riders are up and flying within their first hour with the right board and instruction, eFoil maker Fliteboard told Vital Charters, so ask which crew member teaches it. An eFoil isn’t standard kit, though: 33.8% of active crewed catamarans in the Caribbean and the Bahamas carry one, and 21.3% of motor yachts (Vital Charters analysis, October 15, 2026). The full count is in the Caribbean eFoil research, and the Fliteboard feature covers the board yachts name most. Ask for one by name when you request a quote.
