This was our first trip to the BVI, and we had such an amazing time twith Captains Cheryl and K-Dog that we are already planning another trip with family and friends! Sun Goddess is spacious, clean and well-equipped with everything we needed. Our captains took us to so many fun places and were thoughtful in advance planning to avoid crowds, particularly at The Baths. A highlight of our trip was Anegada. We spent 2 days there, went on Sherwin’s Reef Tour and were treated to freshly made conch ceviche afterwards, and toured the island in a moke. We ate out a few times to experience the local cuisine which was great, but agreed our meals onboard prepared by Cheryl were the best!! Looking forward to a return trip!!

Sailing with K-dog and Cheryl on Sun Goddess should be put on top of your bucket list! We came as strangers and left as family. Everyday they provided us with a fantastic adventure perfectly suited for our active group. K-Dog’s stories kept us laughing and Cheryl’s culinary skills and presentation were better than a 5-star restaurant!

We had an absolutely amazing 8 day charter adventure on Sun Goddess sailing around the British Virgin Islands with Captains Cheryl & K-dog! Plenty of snorkeling, hiking and exploring various spots. The accommodations on the Sun Goddess were so comfortable and we had the ability to spread out throughout the week. One of the highlights of the week was the spectacular meals that were prepared by Cheryl and grill master K-dog. We hope to replicate some of them back home. Our family of four (with kids ages 15 and 13) returned from what can only be described as the trip of a lifetime aboard the Sun Goddess catamaran in the British Virgin Islands. We went in March for Spring Break and we are still smiling about it!

From the moment we stepped on board, Cheryl and Kevin made us feel completely at home. Their warmth, professionalism, and genuine care set the tone for an unforgettable week. They didn’t just host us they truly got to know us and listened to what we wanted out of the trip. They somehow exceeded every expectation we had.
Each day brought a new adventure, from incredible snorkeling spots (some of the best we’ve ever experienced!) to perfectly chosen stops around the islands. Their recommendations were always spot-on, whether it was a hidden gem beach or a fun local spot to explore. We never once had to worry about planning, everything was seamless. And the food… absolutely amazing. Every meal felt like something out of a fancy restaurant, with so much care and creativity put into every detail. We were blown away not only by the quality but by how every dish felt special and intentional.

What really set this experience apart were the little touches and thoughtfulness behind everything they did. It’s clear Cheryl and Kevin love what they do, and it shows in every moment. They went above and beyond in ways that are hard to fully put into words.
By the end of the trip, it didn’t feel like we were leaving a charter, it felt like we were saying goodbye to friends. That says everything.

We flew into Tortola and met Captain Kevin at the airport. Despite our toting along oversized suitcases, he greeted us warmly. Pro tip: Don’t overpack and bring soft, easy to stow luggage.

Onboard the gorgeous yacht, we met Kevin’s wife, Captain Cheryl. Not only are they both certified captains, but Cheryl is also an incredible chef. She prepared delicious food and cocktails daily and took great care to meet our preferences. I enjoyed her signature banana bread and fresh fruit while sipping coffee and doing my Wordle puzzle daily from the salon. Waking to the view of the incredibly crystal clear water and sun shine every day was pure relaxation.

We sailed the catamaran to different islands each day. I loved sitting on the bow and the fly bridge to catch the fantastic views while traveling. After mooring in each harbor, Kevin expertly whisked us on and off the islands with their dinghy. We explored the land on Virgin Gorda with an open air jeep and saw Anegada via a Moke. We experienced Jost Van Dyke’s famous beach front bars, and Norman Island where I actually swam with a sea turtle.

Cheryl and Kevin are wonderful guides and truly want their guests to have a magical experience. This was a trip of a lifetime that should be done more than once!

The crew and I had the most incredible experience aboard Sun Goddess! We spent our days sailing through the breathtaking British Virgin Islands hopping from island to island, soaking up the sun, salt and beautiful views.

Was not expecting such an awesome trip. We throughly enjoyed an amazing trip from St. Maarten to Trinidad. Our captains were wonderful, professional and caring. I got to see things I would have never seen in my lifetime. Experience different cultures and places, Carnival was fun. We had such a good time. Captain / Chef Cheryl’s cooking was absolutely awesome. Everything was made from scratch. Be careful of the creme brulee, it’s addicting. Or she’ll probably just have some home made cookies lying around, there’s always little treats somewhere. The trip was magnificent. We went snorkeling, fishing and exploring on the Islands. It’s unbelievable the amount of history alone that you can learn.
They knew right where to put us in every little quaint spot on every island we ventured to. We even caught Mahi Mahi off the back of the boat. You’re not going to get any fresher than that. If you’re looking to get away and enjoy every second, watch a breathtaking sunset every evening, (rekindle that flame), paddle boarding or floating on a noodle, or just taking in some Sun on deck. THIS IS IT!!!!

We had such an amazing family vacation aboard Sun Goddess! Captains KDog and Cheryl far exceeded our expectations. They were very attentive to our 3 kids, ensuring they were entertained with various activities each day – fishing, snorkeling, tubing and kneeboarding were favorites. We also enjoyed special time together as a family floating on the rafts and noodles and playing games. Chef Cheryl graciously allowed our 6-year old to assist her in the galley preparing some meals, and we were blown away by the quality of food and presentation – wow! We loved the itinerary they prepared for us and enjoyed the variety and uniqueness of each island. Best family vacation ever!

What a remarkable vacation in the British Virgin Islands! My wife, our 13-year-old son, and I had a wonderfully relaxing week aboard the 53-foot Sun Goddess catamaran, hosted by our exceptional captains, Cheryl and Kevin. Although these trips are typically planned months in advance, we made a last-minute decision to book this one. Cheryl facilitated the process with her quick responses, efficient planning, and straightforward contracting. Impressively, she even secured a fishing license for us in just a few days, which is not always an easy task.

The Sun Goddess proved to be a spacious and comfortable catamaran, fully equipped for both enjoyment and relaxation. Cheryl’s culinary skills were outstanding, providing us with delicious meals throughout our journey. Each dish was customized to our tastes, and Cheryl consistently sought our feedback to enhance our experience. If you have the chance, be sure to request her homemade banana bread, it’s simply fantastic!

While Cheryl expertly managed the galley, Kevin took charge of our daily entertainment and activities. Each day featured one or two excellent snorkeling spots, and once we were moored for the evening, Kevin would bring out various water toys for us to enjoy. We had a great time with the paddle boards, floating island, deck chairs, and the hammock that was always set up at the bow of the boat each night. To add to the excitement, Kevin had a knee board that he towed behind his well-equipped dinghy, which my son absolutely adored. Naturally, I had to give it a try myself to ensure it was safe! 😉

Our journey started in Tortola, where we arrived at Beef Island. We had a delightful time in Virgin Gorda, where my son took his inaugural e-foil lesson based on Cheryl’s suggestion, and he thoroughly enjoyed the experience. That evening, we relaxed with drinks and played pool at Saba Rock. Following that, we spent a day in Anegada, where we went snorkeling and savored a lobster dinner at the Wonky Dog before heading back to Virgin Gorda to explore the Baths, timing our visit to avoid any cruise ships in port. We then dedicated a day to Peter Island before proceeding to Norman Island, where we had the unique experience of visiting Willy T’s… and, naturally, we took the plunge! Subsequently, we traveled to Jost Van Dyke for a brief stop at the Soggy Dollar and Foxy’s before returning to Beef Island for our journey home. Overall, it was an exceptional trip filled with wonderful company, delicious cuisine, and a fantastic atmosphere.

Our family, boys ages 13 and 16, just returned from the most wonderful and perfect trip on board the 53ft Sun Goddess catamaran with our captains Cheryl Simmons and Kevin! Cheryl and Kevin shared their gorgeous boat and experience with us, making us feel like family every day. Cheryl made us the most delicious breakfast, lunch, dinner and dessert every day – each meal was a new favorite for the boys! The food was just perfect. I am home craving her key lime bars!
Captain Kevin was a match made in heaven.
For our family with adventurous teenage boys! Kevin was always up for a snorkel in the most beautiful spots, he had a line in the water to fish anytime, he taught our boys to knee board, and had all the water toys out every time we stopped! We so enjoyed the floating chairs, floating island, paddle boards, and on deck chairs and hammock! Kevin even jumped from the Willy T with the boys.
Cheryl arranged a great day on Anegada for us with scooters and a lobster dinner at Wonky Dog. We had so much fun using our scooters to explore the island! We spent much of the day at Tipsy’s – amazing!
The next day we sailed to Virgin Gorda where Cheryl had arranged for e-foil lessons for the boys! They had so much fun! There was so much to do, we spent two nights! We snorkled, went to the Baths (on a day Cheryl chose with no cruise ships), pirate show in Leverick, and some relaxing!
We loved Cooper island with the rum distillery and gorgeous mooring area. So peaceful and beautiful!
We called an audible and spent the last two nights at Norman Island. The cove was just so beautiful with crystal clear water, we couldn’t leave. Kevin led us around some amazing snorkeling, we visited the Willy T, and took full advantage of floating in the water!
We will forever consider Kevin and Cheryl our family as they took such good care of us on our adventure. They were both so kind and fun with our boys, getting to know them and laughing with them.

BVI perfection delivered by the gods: Cheryl & Kevin are hospitality through and through. Meals, cocktails, fishing, water activity, and everything in between was perfect! They flex as needed to accommodate weather or changes in needs. The boat is WAY better in person compared to photos online. Clean and well appointed and maintained. Highly recommend for anyone looking at 4-6 people for a cruise.

Let me just start by saying Cheryl and Kevin are amazing hosts and charter owner / operators. The initial booking of the trip was made so easy by Cheryl‘s prompt replies to all of the inquiries that I sent her. Most people will plan a year or further in advance to do a charter trip but we had a last-minute break in our schedule and Cheryl was able to squeeze us in and have everything planned and contracted within just a few days.

Chartering a catamaran in the BVI is my absolute favorite vacation and it was made even better by Cheryl and Kevin! Their catamaran, Sun Goddess, is an amazing and comfortable, well stocked and provisioned home away from home. You cannot beat Cheryl‘s abilities in the kitchen either! Not only were her meals the perfect flavor of the day but she also spent over three hours baking me a birthday cake from scratch!

One thing I do advise anyone that wants to charter in the Caribbean is to start your trip from Tortola and not from the US Virgin Islands. I am a fan of Soggy Dollar Bar, Willy T’s and of course you have to make the trip out to Anegada for a lobster meal on the beach! Also plan to make a trip to Tipsy’s if you are heading to Anegada for the day.

Again, I can’t thank Cheryl enough for squeezing us in and making our 2025 BVI charter an amazing experience! If you are thinking of booking a charter, definitely reach out to Cheryl and Kevin and schedule the most amazing Caribbean experience on Sun Goddess.

Wowee!!! We just got back from the trip of a lifetime!!! I don’t think I’ve ever been on a trip where I felt so cared for by our hosts. Cheryl and Kevin (KDog) our hosts and captains went above and beyond to create a very special and unique experience for our whole group. We enjoyed so many incredible meals, homemade by Cheryl and perfectly timed to accommodate all our adventures. I even got a a birthday cake, shaped as a sand castle! Kevin kept us entertained, telling stories, shuttling us in the dinghy and recommending the best snorkel spots. Did I mention their attention to detail? They made sure the boat was always parked in the prime spots, secured scuba diving trips, made reservations at the best restaurants, and even tailered our shore excursions to miss the cruise ship crowds. My brother proposed to his girlfriend while we were there and Cheryl made sure we had champagne to celebrate, secretly packing it away to enjoy on shore. We can’t wait to sail on the Sun Goddess again. We felt like we were home away from home. The catamaran itself was immaculately cleaned, maintained and cared for. It was stocked so many fun things to do! Kevin was always shuffling SUP boards, floaties, snorkel gear, and making sure we had a beverage in hand. Our rooms were cozy with comfy sheets and beds. The living spaces were roomy, tastefully decorated and well stocked will everything we needed. We wanted for nothing on this vacation, except for more days on board. Make sure to request Cheryl’s Pain Killer cocktail and lemon custard dessert while sailing with them, you won’t be disappointed.

Cheryl and K Dog are such fantastic hosts. Personable, funny and so accommodating.

Cheryl thinks of every single detail like reservations and trip itineraries which made it so much easier to just relax and enjoy our vacation.

K Dog was always more than willing to shuttle us on the dinghy to wherever our hearts desired.

We had a birthday and an engagement while on this trip and our hosts went above and beyond to make it truly special.

This was a fantastic week! The weather, the crew (Kevin & Cheryl are amazing!), the islands, the beaches, the yacht, and I could go on! It was a true week of relaxation, laughing and enjoying friends and family. The yacht was roomy and spotlessly clean at all times. The food Cheryl made was delicious, and Kevin will serenade you! The ocean is blue, warm and clear. You can paddle board, swim, float, snorkel or just stay on the boat and relax. Cheryl makes THE most incredible painkiller – super good!

We went out for a day sail aboard Sun Goddess last year when visiting St. John, and it was the highlight of our trip, so we booked a day trip with Captains Cheryl & Kevin again this year. The beach at Maho Bay was amazing, and the snorkeling at Waterlemon Bay was quite good. Kevin led us snorkeling, and we saw blue tang, puffer fish, turtles, rays, elkhorn coral, sea fans, and a big starfish on the ocean floor. It was spectacular! After snorkeling, we returned to the boat and Cheryl served a delicious lunch of Mediterranean pasta salad, grilled chicken and warm pita bread. Cheryl & Kevin are such excellent hosts and we highly recommend them. We have never been to the BVI, so are planning a week-long trip with them this Spring!

We spent 4 days at a Tortola resort, and then had THE BEST time sailing aboard Sun Goddess for 4 days! Captains Cheryl & Kevin were really on top of the weather situation with high winds and choppy seas. We were thankful that they knew safe harbors for us to spend the night and we had such a great time on our 3 nights aboard. Watching the NFL games on their TV was an added bonus. First stop was Norman Island (Willy T was crazy), second night was Jost Van Dyke (went to Soggy Dollar and Foxy’s – our favorite), then spent the third night at Cane Garden Bay (loved the beach, paddle boarding, turtles and dolphin!). Highly recommend for a fantastic crew, yacht and meals! And maybe one or two too many Pain Killers:)

Kevin and Cheryl were such great hosts for our day charter around St. John. We had the best time sailing and just chilling out on Sun Goddess. We went to Little Lameshur Bay and it was such a perfect setting that we never wanted to leave. We snorkeled, had a tasty lunch, cocktails along the way, and truly enjoyed just being aboard. We’re looking forward to coming back for an extended charter aboard Sun Goddess with some family members soon!

My wife and I have traveled to many places around the world from East Asia, to Europe, to South African safaries, to French Polynesia, always looking for unique traveling experiences. Chartering a catamaran in the British Virgin Islands had always been on our list so we decided to give it a go with the Sun Goddess. Before we even arrived in the BVI, we were impressed and thankful for the communication we had with Captain Cheryl. She was extremely helpful with suggestions for what we should pack, logistics and she requested our food and beverage preferences in advance. The level of detail to everything for our entire trip was phenomenal. This was our first trip to the BVI and we were thankful to have such experienced and knowledgeable captains to ensure our safety and show us so many beautiful and amazing places. We wanted a chill and relaxed vacation as an escape from New York City, and this trip was perfect for us. We enjoyed fabulous meals onboard Sun Goddess, and experienced some great dinners on a few of the islands we visited. Captains Cheryl and Kevin are so down-to-earth, and made us feel completely comfortable. They were incredibly flexible, allowing us to simply relax and also set up many fun activities for us. Cheryl even arranged for a couples massage for us, open air and overlooking the Caribbean! Unfortunately, the weather didn’t allow a trip to Anegada this time, so we are planning to come back aboard Sun Goddess for another great BVI adventure next season!

Cheryl, KDog and the Sun Goddess are absolutely the best there is! We felt like family being there and I really don’t see how the experience could have been any better. Cheryl was on top of any requests we had, so sweet and such an amazing chef. KDog answered all of our questions about the area, set up everything we wanted to do (including paddle boards, floating rafts, snorkel gear, the hammock, and much more), and had some great jokes and stories for us. Both of them are such great captains, full of knowledge, genuine and kind people all around. They also respected our privacy very kindly, however, we thoroughly enjoyed their company and talking with them. The Sun Goddess is such a beautiful yacht with everything anyone could ask for. We definitely plan on returning again and 10/10 recommend booking the Sun Goddess for an epic experience.

Life has a way of bringing the right people together at the right times in our lives. We came onto the Sun Goddess with high expectations and hearts/minds full of wonder. The trip was more incredible than we ever could have imagined and the friendship we formed was nothing short of exceptional… truly a blessing to go on the adventure with two people that we now call ‘friends’ in every sense of the word.

I wanted to share a huge KUDOS to both Captain Cheryl and Captain Kevin! We had an absolutely PERFECT trip and could not have imagined anything better. Cheryl and Kevin make a great team ensuring their Sun Goddess guests have a wonderful experience. Cheryl was an amazing hostess and Kevin ensured a safe trip as he maneuvered the islands! They were professional and fun and suggested a great itinerary, since this was a new experience for us. We did everything on our list and more. Cheryl and Kevin went above and beyond to make sure we were having a great time and brought us to destinations we thoroughly enjoyed. Each place we stopped at had something different to experience.

Cheryl prepared meals and snacks that were delicious and exceeded our expectations. She catered to the dietary requests of our group and succeeded in making everything so delightful. She had so many items at her fingertips anytime we had a request! She was always readily available if we had any requests.

The catamaran was in pristine condition. The cabins had ample space and storage for our belongings. It was clean and well kept. The dinghy, paddle boards, floating coach, and other amenities were all in perfect condition. The snorkel gear we used was able to be fitted to each person and was very clean! Towels and sunscreen were always readily available. A bonus to our trip was the extra fun and easy going attitudes both Cheryl and Kevin have! They really made everything look so easy and our entire trip flow seamlessly! I cannot thank them enough for such a great experience! We will definitely use their charter again!

Had a vacation of a lifetime aboard the beautiful Sun Goddess. This trip way exceeded all expectations. Captains Kevin and Cheryl went above and beyond to make sure every element of this trip was top notch. From the insiders knowledge and recommendations on island destinations to the 5-star meals, this trip couldn’t have been more enjoyable and relaxing. Especially notable were the pancakes with Baileys whipp[ed cream and the locally caught fresh fish tacos. No detail was left unmet.
We will definitely book again next year. Kevin and Cheryl, you have us “hooked!”

Our family had a fantastic week on Sun Goddess. Kevin and Cheryl were the most wonderful hosts, catering to our every need in the most comfortable, gracious manner. The boat accommodated our group of six comfortably so that we could take full advantage of relaxing among the natural beauty around us. The Bote chairs and loungers are a super addition to the boat and we enjoyed lounging with cocktails in our hands. We were so well taken care of from start to finish, from our fabulous itinerary, our sails, our excursions, and the amazing food and drinks, it was a week we will never forget. We are already planning when we can get back on board with Kevin and Cheryl.

The Sun Goddess yacht was perfect for our group! Very clean, fully equipped with everything we needed and then some. Captain Kevin and Cheryl were an amazing team. Cheryl’s food was always fresh and varied daily. She was very accommodating to the gluten free member in our party. Kevin and Cheryl did a great job of hearing our wishes for the vacation and planned a beautiful trip around exactly what we wanted to do. They know the ins and outs of so many little places. It was a blast and we will be back!!! Can’t say enough of how great our experience was on the Sun Goddess! Celebrated two 65 year old birthdays (130 combined), and had a surprise engagement! One person is a hair stylist and gave Captain K-Dog a haircut onboard! Good times!
