Addison Sammet
Addison grew up in South Florida and has been on the water from an early age, learning to sail on his family’s beach catamaran before teaching sailing at Lauderdale Yacht Club as a teenager. With a background in mechanical engineering and industrial design, he took his first command in 2011 and has since built more than 15 years of experience aboard charter boats ranging from 64ft to 145ft. Addison has cruised extensively throughout The Bahamas, Caribbean, Mediterranean, New England, Dominican Republic and Central America, including transatlantic crossings and a ten-month European season onboard SEASCAPE V. Now in his third year as Captain of SEASCAPE V and eighth year working with the same owner, he leads a crew of nine and brings a hands-on technical approach to the operation of the boat. Away from the bridge, Addison is a private pilot and enjoys offshore fishing, diving, sailing, cooking, wine and mechanical watches. He particularly enjoys sharing his knowledge with guests, whether teaching sailing, celestial navigation or deep-drop fishing. His goal is simple: create a charter where everything feels effortless and guests leave having experienced something they could not have arranged themselves.
