Day Dreams and Good Friends

Good friends planned this trip to the BVI. It was total relaxation from the time we stepped aboard the Hazel Della. Captain Nicholas and Chef Vaughn made it even better with the hidden gems of the islands and exquisite food presentations. The meals were a surprise each day and the sail destinations were to make memories for a lifetime.

Amazing Trip on Hazel Della – 10 out of 10!!!

The four of us had a fantastic week on Hazel Della with Captain Nicholas and Chef Vaughn! What a fun, kind, and knowledgeable team!! It was my husband and my 3rd BVI charter and our friends first and the crew went above and beyond to show our friends the must see spots and to find new ones we had never been too! Captain Nic was a master at getting us the best mooring balls at popular spots (like the Baths) before it got busy, taking us to the BEST snorkeling spots and also incorporating all our wishes into the schedule! He hit it out of the park day after day!! Chef Vaughn presented one fabulous meal after another, and really nailed it with what we liked and the amount of food to serve (which is a skill!!). Captain Nic jumped in several nights to cook and use the onboard grill. We had never had a Captain who also loved to cook!

BVI BVI trip

I rarely write reviews but after an absolutely fantastic trip with Captain Nicholas and chef/mate Vaughn, I am compelled to give them a great review. Captain Nicholas and chef/mate Vaughn were outstanding. The guests were ALWAYS their first priority whether it pertained to activities, food and drink or knowing where to take their guests for the best BVI experiences. They really did pamper us. Wouldn’t let us help with anything. Loved going to all of the different islands. The two of them excelled in their respective roles but also in sharing duties when necessary. We had a great time with them and thank them for their hospitality. Would love to be a part of a future cruise with them. We actually felt like one big family. Captain Nicholas and chef/mate Vaughn, thank you again for the great memories that we will never forget.

Extra Mile

Sitting at our gate to head home after a 7 day private charter aboard Hazel Della in the BVI. Having never done anything like this before, we had no idea what to expect. What an incredible experience! Captain Nicholas Olney and Chef Vaughn Rundle catered to our every need and desire, creating an itinerary especially for us. They met with us prior to the trip to gather our preferences from food to activities to sights. They helped us arrange the travel days with water taxis and land taxis and it was seamless! Captain Nico and co. are scuba dive master for the trip, enhancing our safety. But more than anything, we all loved their hospitality. Everyone was friends and we so enjoyed hanging with them for the week. My one fear was “what if we get a crew that make it awkward to share such personal space?!” With Nick and Vaughn on Hazel Della (50 foot catamaran, 4 bedroom), we had no such concerns. By the end of the week they were family. If you’re looking for this experience, we 10/10 recommend!!

Breathtaking Sailing Adventure Led by a knowledgeable, passionate, creative, and happy to please Captain and Chef!!

You will pinch yourself each time with astounding beauty in every direction no matter what time of day or where the wind takes you! Captain Nicholas and Chef Vaughn bring passion, creativity, and fun surprises each day by listening carefully to what you want and like; guaranteeing to exceed your expectations! They know all the right places and the best times to be there to maximize your experiences. Then they will spoil you on board the luxurious Hazel Della with personalised service, kindness, and delectable treats based around your preferences. They truly are kind, dedicated, and fun-insuring moments on board are as relaxing and enjoyable as the adventures they love to share! Thank you to a perfect team!!

A charter dream come true!

We always knew the sights & sounds of the British Virgin Islands would live up to its reputation as the “sailing capital” of the world. What we didn’t realize was how having the right crew could make it a truly memorable experience. Our Captain (Nicholas) and Chef/1st Mate (Vaughn) proved to be exceptional at what they do. From their sailing, culinary & itinerary skills; every task onboard was done with the same goal in mind… guest satisfaction. Our charter onboard the well-appointed Hazel Della will forever be a cherished memory.

To our South African friends aboard the Hazel Della.

The Best Trip of Our Lives

I have read a lot of the other reviews and there is nothing to add to them. It is simply a beautiful place in the BVIs. It’s magical and breathtaking and you must go on your own catamaran! What set this trip apart for us were our Captain (Nico) and Chef (Vaughn). They made the trip for us. I’m sure the scenery and experience are the same on most boats but you cannot replicate the feeling of spending the week with crew that become more like best friends. They made sure that we had the time of our lives on the Hazel Della and I cannot say enough about how magical they made this trip for me! As I told Nico when I gave them their tip, if I had brought double, I would have given that to them! They are spectacular and this yacht company is lucky to have these two men together on this boat.

50th Birthday Trip

One of the best, if not THE BEST, vacations we have ever been on. Nicholas, our captain, and Vaughn, our chef, were simply amazing. They went above and beyond to provide the most amazing trip ever! They renewed to every one of our needs and requests. And they were a blast to hang out with on the catamaran for a week. I would definitely recommend this trip to anyone and everyone. It is a Must-do trip!

Trip of a lifetime with the best family and crew that became family!

Our family of six set sail on Hazel Della with the highest of hopes and somehow, this crew exceeded every single one of them. From the moment we stepped aboard, the attention to detail was simply considered, curated, and crafted with genuine care. The itinerary was nothing short of inspired – a seamless blend of exhilarating sailing, hidden anchorages, snorkeling spots we never would have found on our own, and perfectly timed sunsets that made every evening feel like its own celebration. Safety was clearly a priority woven into every decision, yet it never once got in the way of the adventure. We always felt in capable, confident hands with Captain Nicholas. Words genuinely fall short. What sets this charter apart – what makes it truly exceptional – is the crew. Captain Nicholas and Chef Vaughn are professionals in the truest sense: skilled, attentive, and…

BVI CHARTER Hazel Della

Amazing experienced Nicolas and Vaughan know all the best spots and how to make lifetime memories. Nicholas is a great captain and safe. Pain Killers rocked. Food was amazing. Vaughan. Can’t believe how perfect the week was.

We recently returned from an unforgettable one-week trip aboard the High 5 catamaran in the British Virgin Islands with Captain Westley and First Mate/Chef Leandri. From start to finish, both the food and service were excellent. Our group ranged in age from 23 to 83, and the crew went above and beyond to ensure everyone felt comfortable and catered to throughout the journey.
We had the pleasure of celebrating our daughter’s 25th birthday during the trip, and Leandri made it extra special with a delicious breakfast and a homemade birthday cake. To top it off, the crew surprised us with a fun karaoke and dance party that evening, creating memories we’ll treasure forever.
Westley and Leandri thoughtfully planned an itinerary that allowed us to visit all the top attractions and fun spots on the different islands, ensuring we never missed a highlight. They balanced adventure with relaxation, taking us to beautiful beaches, lively local hangouts, and scenic viewpoints that showcased the breathtaking beauty of the British Virgin Islands.
Captain Westley and Leandri truly exceeded our expectations, making this experience both relaxing and exciting. We highly recommend the High 5 catamaran for anyone seeking a remarkable vacation on the water in the British Virgin Islands!

We couldn’t have asked for a better vacation! Leandri and Wes were amazing hosts on the High 5. The boat was spacious and beautifully decorated. The food Lea made was so delicious and fresh. It was the best food we ate throughout the BVI’s!

We can’t wait to do it again next year:)

We were on High 5 with Wesley and Leann for a week in the BVI’s and it could not have been any better. They immediately make you feel like family and made the entire trip awesome! The food was amazing and everything about it was 5 stars! I’ve done a trip before but Leandri and Wesley brought this up to even higher standards!
Wouldn’t go with anyone else!! They were the best!
Sue and John

This was a wonderful trip.
Thanks for the memories!
Our crew was so professional and the most fun.

Our week on the High 5 was amazing with great friends! Leandri and Wesley made it extra special, everything from the food, drinks and islands were awesome! I would definitely sail with Leandri and Wesley again

Had a great time in the High 5 catamaran. Had great food and saw some amazing places in the BVI.

Wesley was a great Captain and Liandre was the best Chef and 1st mate. I highly recommend this crew and Catamaran High 5. You won’t regret it

We had such a great time, the crew. Lee and Wesley were amazing very knowledgeable about BVI and took us to all the great places. Lee made some amazing food. Each meal was a masterpiece. There was not one thing we didn’t like.
The boat was so well laid out there was room for eight of us to hang out and never got in each other’s way
It was a very windy week that we went, and Westley took the time to make sure that the weather would not get in our way. He had to do some planning, but kept us safe and brought us to the right place on the right days.
Couldn’t ask for a better crew and boat for us to have such a wonderful vacation.
When we were leaving, we were trying to plan when we could do the same vacation again!!!

This was an amazing trip! Al catamaran was high 5. The crew Lee and Wesley was the best. They took very good care of us. The food was amazing. I highly recommend the high 5
They took us to a different island. Every day was not disappointed in anything we had so much fun a lot of laughs, especially with Lee and Wesley.

Sailing to the BVI on the High Five catamaran was an amazing experience. The boat was beautiful, the trip was smooth, and the scenery was unforgettable. What really made it special was the incredible crew—Wes and Lea. Wes was a confident, skilled captain, and Lea was attentive, friendly, and made everyone feel at home. Her meals were not only beautiful but were delicious ! Together they created such a fun, relaxed atmosphere. Highly recommend High Five with Wes and Lea—truly a five-star trip! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Wesley was a knowledgeable skipper. The High Five (our chartered catamaran) was clean and well-maintained. Lee prepared world class food. (Fresh, ample and varied dining options for all of our family members, especially those with food allergies). We’ll be back!

This trip was a Bucket List item that I’ve been wanting to do for years! Captain Westley and Chef Leandri helped make this a reality and a trip we will never forget!

From the moment of waking up, they had a coffee or juice at the ready for us! Throughout the rest of the day, they made sure our needs were met.

I had recently been diagnosed with a severe food allergy (that isn’t well known) and Leandri was able to shift gears and ensure that I didn’t have to worry about my allergy. This level of care allowed me to focus on the trip and the experience. This meant the world to me, and I’ll forever be grateful! The food was next level, varied, and delicious! While I’m not a big seafood person, she is the reason I now like Tuna!

From the get go, I could tell right away that we were in safe hands with a knowledgeable captain who loves what he does. He was very patient and answered any questions that we had relating to the trip, the boat, the islands, etc. This type of vacation can make or break a trip, depending on the captain, I can say with confidence that we would feel safe and enjoy ourselves if we were to sail across the Pacific Ocean with this crew!

We look forward to booking another trip with the Yacht Vacation Company and without a doubt request that our new friends, Westley and Leandri, be the crew that makes another trip memorable!

We had Captain Westley and Leandri who were the absolute best. Captain Westley was very knowledgeable and able to answer all of our questions. We had several allergies onboard and Leandri took all of them into account and still managed to make the BEST meals! We would absolutely recommend them and the company was great as well.

Our family of five spent a week aboard the High 5 catamaran over Christmas. The kids are 22, 19 and 16. It was definitely one of our most memorable, and our most favorite vacations! Our hosts were absolutely superb! Leandri was an amazing chef who cooked and tailored all of her meals towards our wants and needs. Westley was a fantastic captain and really showed us a great time around the islands.
We can’t wait to do it again!!!!!

16 of us, ages 86 to 11 rented two catamarans, High Five with Westley and Leandri and Whiskey Sunset with James and Phee. I was a passenger on High Five so this is a huge thank you to the crew for their expert knowledge, shipmanship, cooking, and care of their guests. We could not be more grateful!!

It was my parents’ 60th wedding anniversary and my husband’s 60th birthday so celebrations were constant and they warmly accommodated all of the fun!

These two South African crew members are delightful! My nephew and dad were under the weather and Leandri couldn’t have been more warm in her care of each of them—even providing vitamin C fizzy concoctions to help their recovery.

My healthy parents are in their 80s and Leandri and Westley were so attentive to their comfort—especially their movements on the rocky boat or boarding the dingy.

The ten year old is a bit fussy about her meals and Leandri befriended her on day one and accommodated her “no sauce” and other requests. Her dad said she’s never eaten so much on a trip. Truly all due to Leandri’s attentiveness and kindness.

Westley captains a safe, clean and beautiful boat. He accommodates the guest requests in finding whatever you want—whether it’s quiet remote snorkeling spots or popular places like the Baths. He has you covered.

I can’t say enough about the strength of these two as a pair. They often worked nearly invisibly and let family have uninterrupted time catching up yet they were always present to help us and answer questions.

Thank you so much for your genuine hospitality. You have far exceeded our expectation of our trip. You made sure all of our needs were met and made sure we had a fun time. Our boys will always remember their time on High 5. Thank you for knowing what we needed before we even knew it. You were the perfect pair for our group.

Omg! What an amazing trip! Umbi made everything go seamlessly. We asked, and it appeared. Even the wind. It’s not a vacation for me if I don’t get to sail. And Daryl took my gluten free & dairy free needs as an exciting challenge, and I ate like a Queen. I’m afraid to get on the scale when I get home. And the food was healthy, made from scratch. We all ate like Kings & Queens! None of us want to go home to the ice, snow & cold. We will be back, not soon enough. Thank you, Umbi & Daryl!

It was just heaven right here on earth. Daryl and Umbi, I can’t thank you enough for taking me to heaven with your kindness and care. You gave us a week that we will remember forever.

Umbi & Daryl,

We had the most amazing week with you on High Five! Thank you for taking us to all of the great spots to snorkel, swim and have fun. The food was incredible, and it was a treat to be so cared for with your culinary creations. Brookie for the win! Most of all, thank you for your kindness and warmth. It’s a week to remember. Thank you! Xo

Mollie & Tom (AKA “Hot Tamale”!) Thank. you so much for an amazing and much needed vacation! Your hospitality, humor, planning and food were all 5 star! Loved every minute of this trip with you and am so incredibly grateful. I truly hope you will keep in touch and look forward to seeing you in the future!

Our trip on the High 5 with Mollie and Tom exceeded our highest dreams. Thanks for all you guys did t make this trip with our family so special!

Thank you for such a wonderful trip on High 5. Everything has been first class – the food, the fun, and all the great company. Hot Tamale is the best captain/crew duo in the BVI! We will not forgot you guys.

5 stars for the High 5. Thanks for everything.

Our family had a dreamy week. Tom and Mollie were the most wonderful hosts, catering to our every need in the most comfortable, gracious manner. The boat accommodated us all so comfortably and was perfectly appointed so that we could take full advantage of relaxing among the natural beauty around us. We were so well taken care of from start to finish, from our fabulous itinerary, our sails, our excursions, and the amazing food and drinks, it was a week we will never forget.
We are already thinking of when we get back on board with Tom and Mollie!

Tom & Mollie, (Hot Tamale). You did an amazing job making our yacht an idyllic vacation destination. But the best part was you two – you welcoming spirit and enthusiasm for making our family vacation and Christmas so memorable! Tom, you are such a calm, confident skipper and we loved our sails this week. You take such meticulous care of the boat! Mollie, the food was absolutely amazing and every day blew us away! We come away with so many memories – barracuda, amazing latte, back flips, the caves, tubing, snorkeling everywhere, all of it!
You guys are the best!

Carey, Dan, Cooper, Brady, Ben
