Captain Jos Smulders
Captain Jos brings a calm, professional approach and a strong commitment to safety to every charter aboard ASKARI. A highly qualified skipper with a genuine passion for the ocean, he takes pride in ensuring every voyage is comfortable, enjoyable, and thoughtfully planned from beginning to end.

His appreciation for the British Virgin Islands extends well beyond their spectacular scenery. Whether navigating to a secluded bay, selecting the perfect sunset anchorage, or planning a day of island exploration, Jos enjoys sharing the places that make these islands such a remarkable destination.

Approachable and attentive, Jos believes every charter should reflect the interests and pace of his guests. Working closely alongside his wife, Chef Chevone, he creates personalized itineraries that balance adventure, relaxation, and unforgettable moments on the water. His calm demeanor, professionalism, and attention to detail allow guests to fully unwind, knowing every aspect of their journey is in capable hands.

Chef Chevone Smulders brings creativity, warmth, and a genuine love of hospitality to ASKARI’s galley. Drawing inspiration from Caribbean flavors and international influences, she creates personalized menus that make dining a memorable part of the charter experience.

From hearty breakfasts before a day of exploring to elegant dinners enjoyed at anchor, Chevone takes pride in preparing meals tailored to each guest’s tastes and dietary preferences. She welcomes a culinary challenge and enjoys adding thoughtful touches that make every meal feel special.

Her care for guests extends well beyond the galley. With an attentive and welcoming approach, Chevone works closely alongside Captain Jos to create a relaxed onboard atmosphere where guests can settle in, feel looked after, and fully enjoy every moment of their holiday.
