Captain Julle
Originally from Finland, Captain Julle brings an extraordinary lifetime of sailing experience to AD ASTRA. He first began sailing as a young boy and, more than 48 years later, has accumulated over 100,000 nautical miles at sea.
His professional career has included roles as a charter yacht captain, delivery skipper, sailing instructor, tour leader, and product research skipper. He has commanded yachts up to 110 feet and crossed both the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans.
Julle’s sailing adventures have taken him throughout the Caribbean, Bahamas, Cuba, Mexico, Belize, Venezuela, Thailand, Burma, the Mediterranean, and the Baltic Sea. His extensive experience gives guests the confidence of being in highly capable hands, while his relaxed Finnish personality creates an easygoing atmosphere aboard.
Beyond sailing, Julle holds a Master of Science in Environmental Geology from Turku University in Finland and has also trained as a special education teacher and real estate manager.
